Very good...I sat here and listened to it twice. Thank you for sharing. Also, I just started reading my copy of Buddhadharma, and believe there was a write up by you in it. The article was titled Going It Alone and there were several contributors...was that you???
@TM - I have listened it a few times as well. Such great and simple wisdom. As for Buddhadharma -- yeah that was me. I'm honored that they printed my humble offering.
Possibly due to my religious background form which I am recovering but I was unable to actual hear what was being said as I felt the delivery was not unlike a good deal of television evangelists! Sorry I don't mean to offend just the delivery was very much un-Buddhist like....I am new to all this.
@Tullik - I'm not offended in the least. I understand not being able to hear it as much. I had trouble too but I think putting on head phones might amplify it a bit more.
He certainly is very passionate but I didn't get the impression that he was being a demagogue.
Despite Hollywood depictions, not all monks are always serene and soft spoken ;) Sometimes they do get a bit animated but overall they're pretty peaceful people.
Plus, something to think about...peaceful doesn't always mean docile.
A Zen Buddhist who follows in the tradition of Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh but I enjoy teachings from all Buddhist traditions. In addition, I am influenced by Taoism and Secular Humanism. I am also a nature lover and live with Schizo-Affective Disorder. The blog is titled, "The Buddhist Blog" because it was all that I could think of for a name. It does not mean that somehow I think my blog is the definitive blog on Buddhism. It is not. It is one traveler's footprints and nothing more. I am not a Buddhist teacher. This blog is a journal of my humble travels as I try to follow the middle path of Buddhism. Take my hand and walk with me for awhile. I have a university degree in U.S. History with a special emphasis in African history. As well as a minor in World Geography.
